Install firmware over USB

Connect your board to a computer with a USB data cable. Use desktop Chrome or Edge.

No public firmware yet

The installer will be available here after the first EE04 firmware release is verified.

After flashing, follow the display's instructions to connect Wi-Fi and pair your iPhone.

After installation: connect Wi-Fi and pair
  1. Scan the Wi-Fi QR on the display to join Hearthboard-XXXX.
  2. Open the setup page, name the display, and connect it to your 2.4 GHz home Wi-Fi. If the page doesn't open, visit http://192.168.4.1.
  3. Rejoin your home Wi-Fi on the iPhone. Open Hearthboard, select the display, and compare the pairing digits.
  4. Press the board's Right button to confirm when the digits match. Add Clock and Weather to check the connection.

Supported boards and recovery

The initial target is the TRMNL 7.5″ DIY kit / Seeed EE04, with XIAO ESP32-S3 Plus and an 800 × 480 monochrome panel. E1001 and E1002 images aren't available. Other ESP32-S3 boards need their own firmware.

If a board doesn't appear over USB, try a data cable, close serial monitors, and press a board button to wake it. Hold Right for five seconds to reopen pairing, or Left + Right for ten seconds to forget Wi-Fi.
