How to install and pair
  1. Download on the frame, or copy the APK using microSD or USB.
  2. Allow APK installation for the browser or Files app you use. On Android 6 or 7, this is usually Settings → Security → Unknown sources.
  3. Install and open Hearthboard Frame. Connect the frame and your iPhone to the same home network.
  4. Open Hearthboard on the iPhone, select the frame, and compare and confirm the six pairing digits.
  5. Set Hearthboard as the Home app where supported, then check it opens after a reboot.

Compatibility and updating an existing installation

Check the exact Android version and firmware. Some stock photo-frame launchers hide settings or block APK installation. The PF1007L development unit required device-specific provisioning; that doesn't establish support for every frame with the same name.

A public release must use the correct package and signing identity to update in place. Don't uninstall a working development build just to bypass a signing mismatch: it can remove settings and pairings.
